Construction quotation software From inquiry to signed project, without retyping
Quote an existing client or a new customer. The builder prices the template's lines at your target margin; the accepted quote becomes the project, its contract, payment stages, bill of quantities and budget.
What is construction quotation software?
Construction quotation software prices a job for a customer and sends it as a document they can accept. It starts from a template of the usual lines, prices them from your own rates, and keeps every revision until the customer says yes.
A Word or Excel quote stops at the PDF. Construction quotation software also protects your margin with approval rules, records the customer's answer, and turns the accepted quote into the project, so nothing is typed twice.
What to look for in construction quotation software
- Quote lines from a template, priced from your own catalogue
- Pricing at a target margin, not a guessed markup
- A price approval below your minimum margin or over the discount limit
- Sending by WhatsApp, email with a PDF, or a secure page
- Accept, change or decline from the customer's phone
- Revisions that keep every earlier version
- The accepted quote becoming the project, contract, payment stages and budget
Aaghaz360 does each of these in every package.
Why construction quotes lose money, or lose the job
A quote does two jobs: win the work and protect the profit. Quotes typed in a hurry usually fail at one of them.
- 1Prices copied from the last quote, at last year's rates.
- 2A markup added on top, without checking the margin it leaves.
- 3Discounts given on the phone with no one approving them.
- 4Quotes sent as a PDF and never followed up.
- 5No record of which version the customer actually accepted.
- 6The accepted quote retyped into the project, the contract and the budget.

Worked example · sample figures
A worked example: pricing at a 20% margin
Sample figures. The work costs $40,000; the company prices at a 20% target margin with an 18% minimum.
| Line | Rule | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Cost of the work | From the template's lines | $40,000 |
| Price at a 20% margin | $40,000 ÷ (1 − 0.20) | $50,000 |
| Profit | 20% of the price | $10,000 |
| Customer asks for $2,000 off | New price | $48,000 |
| Margin after the discount | $8,000 ÷ $48,000 | 16.7% |
At 16.7% the discounted quote is below the 18% minimum, so it needs a price approval before it goes out. Note that a 20% margin is a 25% markup on cost: quoting by markup alone makes profit look bigger than it is.
Quotation terms used on this page
- Margin
- Profit as a share of the price. $10,000 profit on a $50,000 price is a 20% margin.

- Minimum margin

- Discount limit
- The largest discount allowed before a quote needs approval.
- Quote revision
- A new version of a quote that keeps the earlier ones, so changes can be traced.
